About

I’ve always known that sooner or later I’d end up in the bridal business.  At eight years old I bought my first Brides magazine (and the 50-cent price took five weeks’ allowance!). Page after page, those dreamy images entranced me - the lustrous satins, the regal flowing trains, and the wispy veils that cascaded from little pillbox hats or billowed from circlets of little white flowers.

Growing up I was greatly influenced by the resourcefulness of my mother and grandmothers who stretched many pennies during wartime shortages by making everything themselves.  Once I started sewing, which was compulsory for girls in grade school, I came to understand the effort it takes to create things by hand, and that the reward for all that effort is quality.

Quality and attention to detail that no factory can duplicate.  And one day, after being asked to make a veil for a friend, I discovered that working by hand is a natural fit with specialty fabrics that can be slippery and sparkly, paper thin and fragile, uniquely textured – and all gorgeous. The kind of things that brides’ dreams are made of.  The kind of things I want to make for you.

I never want a bride to see her wedding photos for years afterwards and say to herself, as I did: "They said a long veil was a waste of money but oh I wish I’d done it anyways’’, or, "I wish that dress hadn’t looked so plain’’.  So tell me your wish.  I’ll listen, and we’ll figure out a way to make it happen.  That’s what I wish.
